Note: The current version of this video in circulation appears to be from a VHS or Beta tape, and is very soft. Granted, the video itself is quite soft inherently, but I think this version is significantly sharper. There are a few downsides though: 1) There’s a TV rating icon at the beginning, a persistent BET logo, and a short segment at the beginning where the frame/field alignment was off on the original BET signal (see lack of smoothness on first 2-3 seconds of video). In other words, I’m not sure this is an “upgrade” overall compared to the version being circulated, but I think it’s definitely the clearest version out there that I’m aware of, at least until the Prince camp decides to put out an official DVD/Blu-ray set (which I would definitely buy!)
